After experiencing a range of challenging and traumatic life experiences, and providing professional counseling services for 15+ years in private practice, I’ve learned some valuable lessons I’d like to share. Moreover, providing tele-therapy counseling services for several years and exclusively for the past 3 weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m learning some valuable lessons. Despite being under “stay-at-home” orders, we must maintain a schedule and our routines. For example, we need to maintain regular sleep-wake schedules, meals, exercising, taking breaks and socializing. Under the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to find creative, intentional ways of doing these things while adhering to WHO and CDC guidelines.
